Field help: (2024) Installation or replacement for summer thermal protection

Summer thermal insulation includes the installation or replacement of roller shutters and external shading elements that help to protect interior rooms from excessive heating.

Since 2021, this summer heat protection has also been eligible for funding. Specifically, this means that funding is available for the replacement or initial installation of external sun protection devices, such as roller shutters or blinds. It is important that these systems provide optimised daylighting, for example, through light-directing systems or automatic controls that are based on the position of the sun.

This funding is based on the requirements of Form 4a of the Energy-Efficient Renovation Measures Ordinance (ESanMV). To receive funding, the technical requirements of DIN 4108-2:2013-02 for summer minimum heat protection must be met. This standard ensures that the measures achieve the desired effect and that indoor temperatures remain comfortable even during periods of strong sunlight.
