How does data retrieval simplify the completion and submission of the tax return?

1. The electronically provided data can be automatically transferred into your income tax return.
2. When you open your tax return on the Lohnsteuer kompakt website, you can retrieve the data directly on the "My tax return" page and import it into your tax return.
3. As soon as the tax authorities provide new data or an updated version of existing data, you will automatically receive a notification by email.

Note: Data can only be requested for the last 4 tax years, i.e. in the year 2026 you can retrieve data for 2025, 2024, 2023 and 2022.
