Field help: (2024) Certification number

Enter the 6-digit certification number without separator/spaces. The first two digits of the certification number must be 0, e.g. "001234".

The provider, that is the bank or insurance company, usually sends you the so-called provider statement once a year. You will receive one copy for your personal documents and another with the note "For submission to the tax office" ("Zur Vorlage beim Finanzamt"). You must enclose the original of this statement with your tax return.

This pension provider statement includes all the information you need:

• Pension company number
• Certification number
• Policy (contract) number and
• Total contributions made in 2024

Note: If you have concluded a Riester contract with a supplementary pension fund (Kommunale ZVK, Kirchliche ZVK, ZVK für Sparkassen, etc.), they usually do not indicate a certification number. Reason: since special statutory regulations already apply to occupational pension plans that stipulate a minimum quality standard, the government has opted not to require certification of occupational pension providers.
