Check this box if you incurred job search expenses.

You can deduct any expenses you incurred in connection with the job application process. These include, for example:

• Expenses for passport photo


• Photocopies


• Quick binders, clear covers


• Postage


• Official certifications


• Writing paper,
  
• Books or computer programs on the subject of applications and introductions


• Travel expenses to the interview


• Costs for job advertisements


• Weekend editions of national daily newspapers that are known for a large job market, e.g. the FAZ or the Süddeutsche Zeitung.For example, the FAZ or the Süddeutsche Zeitung

Financial officials are often a little more generous with application costs, however, as far as the burden of proof is concerned. Thus, many tax offices also accept a lump sum. However, you have no right to such a lump sum.
