If your child or grandchild, for whom you are entitled to child allowance or child benefit, is entitled to disability allowance, you can claim it if the child is not claiming the allowance himself/herself. This is usually more favourable from a tax perspective than specifying the flat rate allowance in the child's tax return.

Important: a transfer of the disability allowance is only possible if the child has not already claimed this allowance in their own tax return.
